She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Waterhouse Pole and Edgar Pole; and her grandmother Belle Yale Waterhouse. She is survived by: her daughters, Caroline Shelby, Christina Skeen and Heather Shelby.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her honor to the ASPCA or to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
