We bid farewell to Marie Ethel Sweeney of Sewell, New Jersey, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 17, 2025 at the age of 84. Marie Ethel touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Blomquist and Ethel Mason Blomquist. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Sweeney; her sisters, Louise Eastburn and Elaine Blomquist McDowell; her children, Brian Sweeney, David Sweeney, Donna Sweeney and Deborah Sweeney-Moore; her son-in-law Bill Moore; her grandchildren, Stephanie Bonnes (Andrew Stinson), Nikita Iltchenko (Alicia Briegel), Tatianna Sweeney, Joseph Sweeney, Adrianna Sweeney, Daniel Sweeney, Kristen Sweeney and David Sweeney; and her great grandchildren, Eloise Bonnes and Sylvia Stinson. She is also survived by her husband, two of her children, a grandchild, and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church (2038 Pleasant Valley Rd, Newark, DE 19702). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Bay View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Delaware 4-H, a program Marie was actively involved in as a child.
