He is survived by: his wife Dr. Marcia Ashhurst-Whiting; his daughters, Gina Whiting-Iseley, Sheila Whiting-Yates and Andrea Whiting-Hackett; and his stepsons, Albert Blackshear Sr. (Danielle) and Karim Mohammed (Deborah). He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
