He is survived by: his wife Virginia Sysock Tanko; his daughters, Cheryl Taylor (Keith) of Carteret and Virginia Curry (Robert) of Allentown, PA; his brothers, Ronald Tanko of Edison and William Tanko of Parlin; and his grandson Travis Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association in Mr. Tanko's memory would be appreciated by his family.
