We bid farewell to Lucy Barkala of Secaucus, New Jersey, born in South Bend, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 3, 2025 at the age of 97. Lucy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Lucy had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Lucy may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Barkala; and her children-in-law, Margaret M. Barkala (Comey) and Joseph Calderone. She is survived by: her children, Susan (Calderone) and Edward S. Barkala (Louise Sallustio); her grandchildren, Doreen and Michele Tuzzo; and also Vincent Tuzzo.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ 07094).
