She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria and Fernando Chaves; her husband Rogelio (Roy); and her brothers, Rene Chaves and Francisco "Paco" Chaves.

She is survived by: her daughters, Edilia "Dee" Gerrity, Grisel Shock (Walter) and Ruth Santuccio (Salvatore); her grandchildren, Eric, Nathalie, Brittany, Walter, Salvatore, Bernadette and Olivia; and her sister Maria Torres. She is also survived by her great grandchildren.
