She was predeceased by: her husband Paul McCarthy; her son Justin McCarthy; her siblings, Marilyn Schlick and Eugene Thomas; her siblings-in-law, Ruth McCarthy and John McCarthy; and her son-in-law Douglass Rothermel.

She is survived by: her caregiver Winnie Cooper; her daughters, Mary McCarthy, Maureen Ireland (William Ireland) and Patty Horn; her granddaughters, Amber Pon (Javier Pon) and Ashley Perry (Jon Perry); her great grandchildren, Isabelle Pon, Carter and Colton Perry; and her nieces, Carol Schlick, Suzanne Schlick-Volovar and Beverly Walton.
