She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Ellsworth and Marian Shimp (Husted); her husbands, George Russell Harris and Edmund Eugene Downer, Sr.; her son Alan R. Harris; and her siblings, Harold P. Shimp, Dorothy Gregory and Shirley Hepler.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon H. Boyer (Scott) and Creigh P. Harris (Beth); her daughter-in-law Joan Harris; her stepchildren, Edmund E. Downer, Jr. (Geraldine) and Judith V. Downer (Joseph Bongiovanni); her grandchildren, Erin Harris, Michael Harris, Patrick Harris, Rachel Harris and Devon Boyer; and her stepgrandchildren, Richard Bongiovanni, John Bongiovanni, David Miller, Keith Miller, Elizabeth Engel and Jacquelyn Engel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Doris' memory to the Elmer Fire Department, PO Box 459, Elmer, NJ 08318.
