It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Petersen Oakes of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Henry Petersen; her husband Kingsland "Beau" Oakes; and her sister Nancy Godfrey. She is survived by: her mother Jean Petersen; her children, Toni Marchick (Steve), Jacqui Murray-Smith (Harvey), Michael Oakes, Steven Oakes (Ildi) and David Oakes (Rosa); and her grandchildren, Bailey, Seanna, Natasha, Adam, Greg, Christine, Chelsea Rae, Emily, James, Carol Maria and Benji. She is also survived by mother to her five children.
