He was predeceased by: his father Jim; his grandparents, Thomas Montagna and Elma Canfield; his uncle David Montagna; and his cousin Nicky Montagna.

He is survived by: his mother Lynn E.; his siblings, Matthew (Katie) and Sarah (Dan Nizri); his nieces, Emma and Mia; his nephew James; and his grandparents, Bernice Montagna and Kenneth Canfield.
