Melvin (Scotch Plains, New Jersey), born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on May 12, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Samuel Travis and Louise Travis (Wilson); and her siblings, Sidney B. Travis Sr., Charles L. Travis Sr. and Ora Diana Travis.
She is survived by: her children, Robert B. Melvin Jr., Michael J. Melvin (Amy), Jacquelyn E. Melvin and Irene Katrina Melvin; her granddaughters, Katherine Keys, Michaela Melvin and Michelle Canel; her siblings, David J. Travis Sr. (Louise), Samuel J. Travis (Shirley), Phyllis Travis-Wade and Ada Dingle (Robert Melvin Sr.); and her sisters-in-law, Ruthie Travis and Vernice Travis. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
