He was predeceased by: his wife Sophie Podbelski Chevalier; his grandson Swede Chevalier; and his siblings, William Chevalier and George Chevalier. He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Brayden Bullen, Owen Furgal and Kara Furgal; and his brothers, Robert Chevalier and Fritz Chevalier.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Vernon's name be made to Sayreville First Aid Squad P.O. Box 9 Sayreville N.J. 08872.
