He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sohayda, Sr. and Margaret Vargo Sohayda; and his brother-in-law Joseph Sokolowski. He is survived by: his wife Edith Licinsky Sohayda; his sister Carol Leitner of Iselin; and his sister-in-law Virginia Sokolowski of Colonia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
