He was predeceased by: his former wife Joan Barbara Washburn Kolodziej; and his son David A. Kolodziej. He is survived by: his wife Irene; his parent Rutgers; his sister Rita Kolodziej; his daughter-in-law Linda Kolodziej of Delaware; his godson Bernard J. Bailey of Sayreville; his grandchildren, Jonathan A. Pinto (Sayreville), Susan Byford (Colorado), Ellen Koen (Colorado), Anton Kolodziej, Elizabeth Kolodziej (Delaware), Thomas Willumstad (Texas), Daniel Kolsen and Andrew Kolodziej (Ohio); and his great grandchildren, Mya, Cayley, Hannah Pinto, Lauren, Aidan, Max Byford, Jake, Dylan, Garrick, Annaleigh Koen, Keira, Owen, Grayson Kolodziej and Oliver Willumstad.
The family has requested that donations in Edwin's name be made to Our Lady of Victories School or Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
