He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Herman and Emily Herman. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Grillo; his sons, Anthony (Dorothy) of Sayreville and James (Melissa) of South Amboy; his grandchildren, Nicole, Christina, Heather, Mark and Adam; his great grandchildren, Leah and Paris; and his siblings, Allen (Arlene Herman), Kenny (Susan Herman), Linda Warenberg (Dave) of Missouri and Carmela Herman of Jackson. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
