He was predeceased by: his wife Carleen Birnie (Ordway); and his siblings, Thomas Birnie (Bonnie) and Geraldine Muttik (Al). He is survived by: his children, Diane Sheldon (Andrew), James Birnie (Elizabeth), Kathleen O'Hagan (Brian) and Christopher Birnie (Karen); his grandchildren, Carleen Birnie, James Birnie, John Birnie, Connor O'Hagan, Angelina Birnie, Griffin O'Hagan and Rileigh O'Hagan; and his pet Gracie. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
