He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy J. McGrath; his parents, Francis M. McGrath, and Marie McGrath, Sr.; and his sister Donna Parker. He is survived by: his daughter Jessica McGrath; his siblings, John McGrath (Suzanne), Diane McGrath (Marty), Deborah DiFrancesco (Joseph), Theresa Paoletti (Lawrence), James McGrath and Ruthann Hopkins (Michael); his close friend Teddy Kidd; and also Gus. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
