He is survived by: his friend Nancy Evelyn Pinckney; his wife Nancy Evelyn Dyson; his son James Melvin Dyson; his grandson James C. Dyson, III; his siblings, Edith Friday, Janie Butler, Henry Dyson (Betty) and Harvey Lee Dyson; his siblings-in-law, Katie Mae Mark, Gladys Dyson, Martha Hardy and Phillip Pinckney; and his godchildren, Seabron Woodley, Jr., Joseph Mark, Chad Lee, Phillip Pinckney, Jr., Jarod Barrows, Belinda Pinckney, Jerry Pinckney and Daniel Barrows. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
