He is survived by: his family, Carl, Breanne of Chloe, DJ, Khalil, Shawn, Deanna, Sarita, Jerome, Kisha of Cheyanne, PD, Ace and Carter Water; his cousin Stephanie Gibbs-Gray; his wife Valerie Simmons; his children, Joy Allen (Marquis) and Jason Simmons; his siblings, Patricia Laurel (Jim), Pamela Ivey and Zeno Simmons; and his siblings-in-law, Kimberly Hammond-Howard, Tamala "Tammy" Hammond and Derek Weatherspoon (Montashia). He is also survived by eight nieces, eight nephews, and a host of dear relatives and friends.
