He is survived by: his wife Ann Louise Barile of Elizabeth, NJ; his children, John Barra, Jr. and Gina Fernicola (Vincenzo); his granddaughters, Francesca and Angela; his children, Anthony Barra (Christina), Madeleine, Vivienne and Julie Cennamo (Steve); his granddaughters, Sofia, Ella and Olivia; his siblings, Jimmy Barra, Nancy Malinowsky (Barra) and Joanne Wienckoski (Carrano); and his brother-in-law Buddy Barile.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, an organization he felt strongly about.
