It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Silvia of Roseland, New Jersey, who passed away on February 20, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joaquin Silvia and Georgianna Silvia; and his siblings, Helen Silvia, James Silvia, Georgianna Ronchi and Florence Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis E. Silvia (Edwards); his sons, John J. Silvia (Jennifer Noble) and Brian J. Silvia (Kristy); his grandchildren, John Michael, Julianna Marie and James Joseph; and his siblings, Henry Silvia, Daniel Silvia and Belmeida Gambardella. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sister in-laws, brother in law, and cousins.
The Roseland Police Department considered Joe a hero for being on the front lines with their officers during Covid-19 while answering calls to render aid to the residents of Roseland.
