He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his sons, Dr. Michael D Appleton, Jr. (Alessandra Lo Basso) of Collingswood, NJ and James B Appleton of Brooklyn, NY.; and his siblings, Paul (Kathy), Greg, Anne Granelli (Bryan), Mimi Ciesielski (Don), Jim (Marjorie) and Maureen Heller (Bill).
