He was predeceased by: his sister Barbara Tomany; his wife Bridget Lavin; his siblings, Priscilla Heatherton and Tom Lavin; his nephew Robert Heatherton; his sister Katherine Lavin; and his parents, Thomas Lavin of Ballymote and Jane Curran of Bawnboy.
He is survived by: his children, Jean (Ian Morgan), James and Thomas (Amanda); his grandsons, Liam and Henry; his nieces and nephews, Karen, Jennifer, Tommy, Marty, Matthew and Patrick; his uncles, George and Tom; and his aunt Priscilla.
