He is survived by: his wife Dolores Kennelly Carpenter; his children, Jennifer Carpenter (Marc) of Hawthorne, Suzanne Carpenter (Peter) of Ridgewood, Arthur Carpenter IV (Stephanie) of Pompton Plains and Ward Carpenter MD (Russell) of New York City; and his grandchildren, Erica Lehman, Emeril Lehman and Benjamin Carpenter.
