She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Grande and Dominga Gonzalez; and her husband Peter D. Ortiz. She is survived by: her children, Victor Ortiz (Linda) and Grace Magee; her sister Connie Patrone; her grandchildren, Derrick (Amanda), Lauren (Matthew), Gabriela and Sofia; and her great grandchild Wayne Peter Magee. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Maria's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Attn: Development, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
