He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McGowan and Gloria McGowan. He is survived by: his spouse Lori Dietrich; his daughters, Amanda, Melanie and Mikaela; his brothers, Tim, Steve and Doug; his siblings-in-law, Louise, Bernadette, Pia (McGowan), Deborah Territo and Robert Territo; his nieces and nephews, Lauren Garris, Christopher Territo, Robin, Kelly, Megan, Stefanie, Elizabeth, Joseph, Martti, Kaitlin and Erin (McGowan); and his great-nephew Jackson Garris.
