He was predeceased by: his parents, John Messinger and Mary Messinger (Sodano). He is survived by: his children, Donna (John Tran), John Jr., Joanne Messinger of Jackson and Christina (John Laneader); his grandchildren, Nicolas, Alexander Tran, Kristina, Ryan, Chase, Myles Messinger, Anthony, Andrew, Alexis and Arianna Laneader; his great grandchild Kaylee Ashby; his former wife Deena Messinger of Palm City, FL.; his siblings, Gabriella Messinger-Applegate of South Carolina and Joyce McMahon of Beach Haven; his nieces, Kimberly Johnson and Janine Porter; his nephew Ronnie Brown; and his uncle Louis Sodano (Jane) of Hazlet.
In lieu of flowers the family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses and a portion of each donation will go to Lighthouse Hospice.
