He was predeceased by: his parents, Spencer and Edna Marguerite; his wife Joan Elizabeth Cleveland; his former wife Dorothy Stephan; his son Ronald Douglas; his son-in-law Chuck Patterson; and his siblings, Robert Jerome and Honey (Edith Adele Long).
He is survived by: his sister Lillian Marguerite Magruder; his children, Russell George (Carol), Thomas Alan (Chong-Ling) and Nancy Elizabeth Patterson; his daughter-in-law Janet K.; his stepchildren, Joanne McElwain (Bruce McElwain) and Lee Stephan (Georgia); his grandchildren, Scott, Cheryl, Laurie, Lisa, Tyler, Eric and Sierra; and his great grandchildren, Logan, Christopher, Alessandra, Mateo, Eva, Ethan, Guinevere, Huxley, Irwin, Joshua, Abigail, Samantha and Phoebe.
In lieu of flowers you may make a gift in his memory to: The American Lung Association (https://www.lung.org) George wished to be cremated and have his ashes placed at Vincent United Methodist Church in Nutley, New Jersey where he attended as a boy.
