He was predeceased by: his father John T. Apel Sr.; and his pet Salvatore. He is survived by: his wife Lorrie Bonanno Apel; his children, Ryan K. Apel, Jessica of Galloway, Laura H. Apel and Rose Chhun of California; his grandchildren, Rhegan and Jacob Apel; his mother Marlene Johannemann Apel; his siblings, Peggy Stewart (Neil Keegstra), David Apel and Sue (Pat Milner); his sister-in-law Sonia Apel; and his parents-in-law, Bob, Nancy Bonanno, Keith, Lisa Bonanno, Linda and Frank Carson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
