He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Vliet and Ira Merril Van Vliet; his brother Neil Van Vliet; and his son-in-law Jack Gerber. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his children, Frank Semcer (Tina Gill Semcer), Paige Semcer McCann (David McCann), Brian (Christine Semcer), Suzanne (Michael Taddeo), Lyndsey Van Vliet of Chevy Chase, MD and Heidi Barazza of Melrose, MA; his grandchildren, Trey, Carly, Kiera Semcer, Olivia Anagnostis, Connor, Ryan McCann, Jake, Mackenzie, Cooper Semcer, Sarah Eager (Dan), Steven Taddeo (Alicia), Amanda, Bradford (Lyndsey) and Clayton Gerber; his great grandchild Micah Taddeo; and his pet Brody.
