He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Blackford and George Blackford; his brother George Blackford Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Blackford and John Petriello.

He is survived by: his children, James (Susan Blackford) and Nancy (Richard Grant); his sister Virginia Petriello; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grant, Lauren Blackford (Nicholas Florie), Joseph Blackford (Alexandra) and Lindsay Greenwald (Christopher); and his great grandchildren, Carter, Shay and Phoebe.
