He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rooney and Helen Rooney; and his brothers, Richard and Patrick. He is survived by: his children, Roland Rooney (Hannah) of Palm Harbor, Florida, Elayne Rooney-Moyer (Daniel) of Orlando, Florida, Michelle Rooney-Kurtz (Robert) of Fort Mill, Kelly Antunes (Gene) of Morris Plains and Joseph Rooney (Sarah) of Long Valley; his grandchildren, Collin, Keaton, Madison, Brayden, Landon, Lily, Julian, Allie, Colton and Grayson; and his siblings, Helen Simpson, Rosita Olpinski, William and Michael Rooney.
