He was predeceased by: his parents, John Russell Paynter Sr. and Mary Horvat Paynter; his daughter Lorelei Edwards; his brother Robert Paynter; and his grandsons, Brandon Curry and Don Edwards III.
He is survived by: his children, Sheryl Paynter (Kenneth Gallant), Susan Donofrio (Douglas) and John Russell Paynter III; his grandchildren, Augustine Donofrio (AJ), Gabrielle Donofrio, Alexis Donofrio, Hunter Donofrio, John Russell Paynter IV (Jack), Vanessa Rhodes, Jessica Curry and Nicholas Paynter; his great grandchildren, Connor Hicks, Nicholas Paynter, Jr. and Brynlee Paynter; and his sister Elizabeth Ann Marcelliano (Rosemary Paynter). He is also survived by Nieces and Nephews.
