She was also cherished by her sons and their wives.

“I met Pat Walton through the Tappan Zee Rhododendron club. Pat was not only a lovely person but an expert hybridizer, nationally known, and grower of beautiful rhododendrons. I loved to ask her questions because her responses always cut to the heart of the matter. She gave willingly of her expertise, even to us amateurs. As I look at my rhododendron collection today, I think of her as my inspiration and mentor. My sincerest condolences to Pat's family and friends. Inge Langer”
