She was predeceased by: her parents, James Friel and Margaret Friel (Neill); her siblings, George "Buddy" Dombrow and Margaret Applegate (Dombrow); and her close friend Jay Hagedorn.

She is survived by: her children, James Reffelt (Michelle) and Laura Sobel (Richard); her grandchildren, Michael Reffelt, Rafe Sobel, Leo Sobel, Robert Ferzan, Riley Sobel, Lucy Sobel and Rebecca Ferzan; and her siblings, Sharon Carroll (Frank) and Robert Reffelt (Paula Walk). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
