She was predeceased by: her husband Dan Mech. She is survived by: her pets, Lucky, Hogan, Bingo, Sparky and Willow; her son Christopher Tashik; her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Tashik; her grandchildren, Owen and Emily; and her siblings, Phillip DeVries, Larry DeVries, Connie DeVries and Jill Goldberg. She is also survived by her 11 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to a local animal rescue organization, a fitting tribute to her lifelong passion for caring for animals.
