It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William A. Sweeney (Princeton, New Jersey), who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John Sweeney and Olive Sweeney; his former wife Jeanne Sweeney; his children, Mark Sweeney and Dr. Rita Sweeney (Ehmann); and his brothers, Joseph Sweeney (Joe) and John Sweeney (Jack).
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Shannon (Dede); his son John (Cary); his children-in-law, Catherine Sweeney and Charley Ehmann; his stepchildren, Mike Shannon (Sarah), Lawrence Shannon (Sarah) and Courtney Shannon; his grandchildren, Evan Sweeney, Heather Sweeney and Charley Ehmann; and his stepgrandchildren, Sam Shannon, Meghan Shannon, Addy Shannon, Peter Shannon, Simon Ehmann and Ruby Ehmann.
