He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay C. Platt and Evelyn Garrison Platt; his brother Jay C. Platt, Jr.; and his grandparents, Viola, Howard Garrison, Ella and Walter Platt.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Stites; his children, Rhonda Platt and Mark Platt; his siblings, Dane Platt (Dolora) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Nancy Morse (George) of Denver, CO; his sister-in-law Linda Harris; his granddaughters, Jenna Hewitt (Zach) and Natalie Arch; and his great grandchildren, Ryan Wayne and Caleb Ronald.
