He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willy August and Marie Lindemann August; his son Gary (Yvonne); his wife Gertrude; his daughter Susan Bailey (Boice); and his grandchildren, Julie Holmes (Rigel) and Brad Bailey (Rebecca).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Legion Post 242 700 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Pompton Plains NJ 07444 to support the Boys State program.
