With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Groener of Pompton Plains, New Jersey, who passed away on October 28, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Peterson and Frieda Peterson; her husband Roy Groener; her brother Jack Peterson; and her brother-in-law Dennis Lento.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Sturla (Bob), David Groener (Kathleen), Susan Halliday (Mark) and Judy Nixon (Bob); her sister Patricia Lento; her grandchildren, Rob Sturla (Paula), Scott Sturla (Christine), Jim Sturla (Alison), Kristin Groener, David Groener, Justin Halliday (Lisa), Kaitlyn Rubano (Rob), Jordan Halliday (Hannah), Benjamin Burklow (Diana), Morgan Burklow (Jacqueline) and Roy Nixon; and her great grandchildren, Samantha, Victoria, Elizabeth, Jagger, Mason, Jordan, Haley, Michael, Brody, Julian, Olivia, Jameson, Everly, Francesca, Asher, Judah, Shiloh, Levi, Morgan and Gabrielle.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory to the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains would be greatly appreciated by her family.
