Francisco Oliveira Obituary
Francisco Feliciano Oliveira was born January 31st, in Gaio, Portugal. He married Maria Beatriz Mendes on February 6th, 1972. Francisco became a member of the Merchant Marines and would share fond memories of his time at sea. In 1985, he came to America in order to provide a better life for his family. He worked diligently to open his own business, "Francisco and Son Painting.".
From the ground up, He built a wonderful home and life for his family. Francisco was a man above men. A resourceful craftsman, he could build anything to fulfill a need as it developed. It was never about him, all his struggle, every endeavor - he did it all for his family even to his dying breath. Known to many as Chico, his family and friends will remember the Saturday luncheons he would have, cooking and grilling, which he loved so much.
They will remember the laughter, the smiles, and joy he brought as they sat for hours around the table, eating and discussing anything from politics to telling stories and jokes. They will remember the raised voices as they watched soccer games, cheering for Ronaldo, Benfica, and Portugal. They will remember a loving husband, a loving father, and above all, a loving man.
Francisco passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 3rd 2019, at his home in Pomona, NY. Francisco is survived by his loving wife Beatriz, his children Rui and Anabela as well as his grandchildren, Alexandra and Gabriel. A Memorial Service will be held 7- 9 PM, Friday June, 5th Buyus Funeral Home 426 Lafayette St, Newark, NJ 07105 Newark, NJ.
