He was predeceased by: his son Kevin M. Miles; and his siblings, Mildred Grice, Mary Anthony, Myrtle Peavy and James Miles.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria L. Penn-Miles; his children, Renee Miles, Paulette Miles, Bernard Miles, Richard Penn, Clayton McCrae, Sharon McCrae and Jackie Campbell; and his brother Jessie Emanuel. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
