He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Gardner and Harry Gardner; and his grandparents, Alberry Smith and Eddie Gardner. He is survived by: his children, Nasir Smith, DeShawn Smith and Destiny Skinner; his grandchildren, CoField-Smith and Na'siyah Smith; his grandmother Nora Finch (Sammie); and his siblings, Alavento Smith, Demetruis Smith, Kristopher Smith (Fatima), Rushonda Smith and Janette Smith.
He worked at a Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation from 2002-2020 where he excelled in many different positions receiving numerous awards and recognitions.
