He was predeceased by: his daughter Queenie Jacobs; and his parents, Wade Campbell and Bertha M. Campbell. He is survived by: his wife Margaret J. Campbell; his children, John Carter (Kim), Stacey Stallings (Leonard), Kimberly Hames (Glenn) and Angela Addison; his sisters, Magdaline Mitchell and Lizzie Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Penn (Elmer), Martha Jean Vaughn, Anna Jordan (Dalton), Beatrice Baylis (Nathaniel) and Lonnie Baldwin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
