He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lanier and Maybelle Lanier; his siblings, Zeddie Mae Allen, Amy Johnson, Annie Ruth Love, Albert, Alex, Willie Jr., Roosevelt, James, Revon and Charles; and his stepdaughter Wanda Jean Stepney.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Stepney Lanier; his children, Sylvia Campbell (Zain) and Tyrone Lanier; and his sister Hattie Lucille Beale. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
