It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hortense Smithson (Plainfield, New Jersey), born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, who passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father George Albert; her daughter Marion Denise Carter; and her siblings, James, William A. Johnson and Priscilla Morris.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark, Michael Smithson of Perth Amboy and Maurice Smithson of California; and her sister Marion Howard of Piscataway, NJ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
