He was loved and cherished by many people including: his adoptive father Edward Durkin of New York City; his mother Barbara Durkin; his stepfather Edward Durkin; his son Kevin James Durkin; his wife Jane Elizabeth Durkin; his children, Jennifer Gonzalez, Peter Durkin and Elizabeth Rapelye; his children-in-law, Michael Rapelye and Cristin Durkin; and his grandchildren, Joseph Gonzalez, Carlee Gonzalez, Christian Gonzalez, Shayna Durkin, David Rapelye, Grace Durkin and Nathaniel Rapelye.
