It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Austin in Plainfield, New Jersey, who passed away on May 23, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roosevelt Jackson and Pecola Jackson; her husband Johnnie Lee Austin; and her siblings, Gerald Lee, Roy, Troy, Willie and Mae Lou.
She is survived by: her daughter Learline of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Antoine (Lisa) of North Carolina, Tonya of New Jersey and Erica of New Jersey; her great grandchildren, A'Nya, Garrett of New Jersey, Alyissa and Antoine, Jr. of North Carolina; her siblings, Cleveland (Verna), Roosevelt (Sheila) of Oklahoma, Louis (Shirley) of Illinois, Earl (Cathy), Rodgers (Veranica) of Texas, Bettye (Odell) and Martha of Texas; her nephew Derek; her sister-in-law Betty of Texas; and her friends, Lois, Essie of New Jersey and Lillie Pearl of Tennessee. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
