He is survived by: his son Joseph W (Joey); the mother of his child Kimberly Sampson; his sisters, Karen Passalacqua (Tony) and Judie Kelly Rich (Pete); his nieces and nephews, Laura, Allison, Veronica, Anthony and Vincent; and his stepson Michael Mazzola.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggestions donations be made to The American Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Joseph.
