She was predeceased by: her father Martin Thompson; her husband Frank Finest Reaves, Sr.; and her siblings, Katie Whitehead, Catherine Anderson, Evelyn Thompson, Dan, Howard, Alec, Marvin and Issac Thompson.

She is survived by: her children, Dennis (Frog) of Leesburg, VA, Rev. Frank F. Reaves Jr. (Paula) of Brotmanville, NJ, Grace Reaves Garrett (Miss Ann) of Norma, NJ and Gloria J. Phillips (Kevin) of Norfolk; her son-in-law Rev. Ernest Garrett of Vineland, NJ; her sister Gloria Mae Morgan of Brotmanville, NJ; her sister-in-law Irma Bland of Minneapolis, MN; her aunt Authurene Reaves of Brotmanville, NJ; and her sister Kim Yerby-Green. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Frank & JoAnn Reaves Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Friendship Baptist Church.
